Probably not, you have established yourself in whatever industry you are in and your experiences whatever they are will count towards your future should you be unfortunate enough to one day be made redundant. Being in the airlines will give you customer service experience to augment what you already have but do you really want this? I cannot compare your current position as you don't specify.figment wrote: That said, assuming i do get thru in the end, I wonder if it's worth uprooting all that I've built to date.

I think the simplest thing would be to simply sit down with a piece of paper and write the pros and cons of both jobs and try to consider future implications. The future of course is difficult to consider as economies and political situations can and do change unexpectedly.
hm... then again in marcomms the world is always changing.. if you realli do get into BA.. you'll still have to find out about the latest news and even the chance to gain more insights wrt marcomm from the 3 different countries you would fly to..figment wrote:Thanks Plavt , Pamie and jiahuipiggy, for your very insightful repliesI guess you're all right, I should scrawl out a list of pros and cons and determine which would point me in a better direction for the long haul. Customer service and soft skills will augment me to a certain extent but I have to ask myself if this value-add is enough to offset my opportunity cost. For all I know, assuming I'm really made redundant in future, I wonder if I can get back into the same industry (I'm in Marcomms) with the same footing in future (with the absence of a few years spent flying).
Shall wean these into my thoughts and seriously take some time to think it over. Thanks once again for the inputs, folks!
