Hello. I wonder if anyone can help me. I was born in Singapore at the Alexander Hospital and have a singapore birth certificate but I am British. I am 40 years old and returned to the UK aged 2. I now have the opportunity to work in Singapore and wondered if I would have dual nationality. Thanks in advance for any guidance anyone can give me.

If both of your parents were British then I would doubt that you would have dual citizenship, just a British Subject born abroad.

Singapore does not recognize dual nationality. If you indeed have Sing citizenship, you would be required to renounce your British citizenship.

Additionally, you would have to do National Service for 21 months.
