Mandarin language software or TV program for children?

Post by catharinevass » Fri, 15 Feb 2008 12:20 pm

Hi,

My 4 year old recently started learning Mandarin and I was hoping to help her with some Mandarin language software or TV programs (like sesame street).

Can anyone recommend some good software or TV programs?

Thanks,

Catharine

Hi Catherine,
I replied to your other post about Avondale and found this and thought I should reply here too (haven't a clue about Madarin language software though!!Sorry!). I checked the Reception year timetable and Mandarin lessons are included. Something else to help you decide :)

Alot of the China sourced DVDs (legit ones) have Mandarin as one of the language options. In fact they default to mandarin with English as an alternative option.

Its a bit of trial and error trying to find English on the chinese menu.

They have a huge selction of current crop of blockbusters and kids movies.

Plus they are cheaper than the exact same movie marketed at the western market.

hi,

A friend of mine teaches children Chinese and she teach Chinese songs for children to them. It is pretty interesting with the actions when singing along. They are songs that every Chinese speaking children should know. May be you can try that. If you need help in finding the songs and song books, let me know. I will be more than willing to help.
