Yeah - Big size clothes ladies and gents. That goes for shoes as well.

Surprisingly, shoes was one thing I was relieved I didn't stock up on before I came to Singapore.

Not that I have big feet - size 9's (aussie size).

Main reason? Most shoes sold in Australia are carp at the $100 price mark. I used to regularly buy Windsor Smiths, and without fail they will break in one way or another after 9 or 10 months, be it the leather cracking and letting in water, or worse, the sole.

I bought 2 pairs of Doc Martins in Sg during the great sg sale, and I've been wearing the first pair 3 years straight. The second pair has not been broken in yet, as the first is still great.

All Doc martins I've bought in Australia have fallen apart in under a year, which to me suggests there are a lot of fakes being imported from China to au.

Be careful leaving those shoes aside for 3 years, Splatted. Twice I've bought identical spares and when I the first pair finally wore out and I got out the new pair, they promptly fell apart as the soles had perished. I didn't look too cool leaving a trail of disintegrating rubber in my wake . First time I thought I was just unlucky until it happened again, so now I alternate the two pairs, no problems. But I digress......

That'd happen if the rubber hasn't been treated correctly.

Doc Martin's are plastic underneath though, a very durable plastic.

I have worn the second pair about half a dozen times up to the post office, and ended up with a few blisters, but so far no trail of shoe remnants
