Will anybody be working today?

Post by jonsey » Fri, 08 Feb 2008 12:03 am

Hi Folks,

As this is my first CNY here, can anybody tell me if its going to be difficult to travel today (Friday).

Will there be any taxis working?
How about buses and MRT?

Thanks.

Buses and train work as usually, perhaps some less taxis on street.

Main shopping/coffee "chains" (Fairprice, Watsons, Starbucks, ...) will open with perhaps a shorter worktime (opening later and closing earlier) and most of non-chinese restaurants are opened.

At least, thats my experience today

Taxi

If you need a taxi, you can always book in advance. If you need bus/train, I just wonder that during whole day, non-peak hour interval apply. But that only mean some extra minutes

You should have no problem calling a taxi, even on a public holiday. The only times I've had difficulty getting taxi is when it's pouring and the whole of Singapore is calling for a cab. That's happened only about once a year in my experience.

On a Saturday morning, most of the country is in bed so you'll be ok. Bon voyage!
