internet cafes
Whenever I'm in Singapore, I go to Chills. Good consistent bandwidth, clean machines, friendly people, decent rates, and they're close to Raffles Place. You can hook up your laptop to their network also.
Have a look:
Chills
#01-07 Stamford House 39 Stamford Road Singapore 178885

I've tried many others (including several INSIDE Raffles Place, but they're simply not up to par on above aspects.)
Thank me later

Last time I was there (August 2003) their charges depended on the hours. Can't remember exactly but I believe it was S$ 2,- for 30 minutes and S$ 3,- for an hour during off-times. Peak-times: S$ 3,- for 30 minutes and S$ 5,- for an hour.
Sure, these rates are not the lowest in Singapore. But I'd tried many other Cyber-cafes that were cheaper and they simply were not up to scratch, i.e. very low throughput, dinghy keyboards, kids playing LOUD Quake games, dim-witted staff, Win95 blue screens, that sort of annoyances. I guess you get what you pay for.
Chills tends to draw in its own target-group clients; the ones that don't mind paying slightly more than average for a much, much better than average service. (No, I don't own stock
)
Anyway, best to drop them a mail to get the latest rates.
