Simple PR question

Post by leopardi55s » Mon, 04 Feb 2008 10:41 am

I couldn't find an answer to my question after reviewing past posts but it's a simple one. Do they hold on to your passport while you apply? They ask for original documents for everything but I can't imagine they hold on to your passport while you await approval.

No they don't hold you passport OR you original documents. You submit copies of the originals and if they want to see the originals they will request that you bring them in and they will visually eyeball them and give them back to you.

When we did it, we followed the instructions to apply in person with originals and copies of all the requested documents. The officer compared the originals with the copies there and then, and handed back all original documents immediately, so no down time without passports.
