Post by henrysdad » Mon, 04 Feb 2008 8:17 am

Does anyone know any good running shops (i.e. for guys wanting to run marathons etc.) , where you will get consultative advice about what shoes you need, all the latest gadgets etc,

Hi, I'm a marathon runner too. :D You can go to running lab at Funan Centre. Their staff are well versed in running shoes cos they're runners too. They carry a couple of brands like asics, new balance, saucony, etc.

There's another specialist running shop at Novena Square.

It is called foot solution or something but from the outside they don't seem to be doing sports related shoes

They definitely do have shoes as well -- all at the upper end of the price range, but if you're running marathons this is not something you want to pinch pennies on.

Feder Sports on the 2nd floor of Penninsula Plaza is the place to go. They have one shop that is crammed full of shoes, you can hardly get round it. Look opposite that and there is another, smaller unit for runners.

The guy in there, I think it's Jeffrey, knows his stuff. A lot of runners I know go to him.

Take your old trainers so he can assess your wear and gait.
