***LANGKAWI WITH 2 BABIES--->HOTEL MID-RANGE NEEDED!***

hi there,
anyone with a tip for a nice hotel mid- range to stay with our 9 month old babies, end of february please?

possibly in CENANG or TENGAH BEACH?

it will be nice if we can have a little electric stove so we can boil some soup for the babies in the hotel room, and have a swim pool and a nice beach strip and maybe a few restaurants/shops nearby.

kind regards theo

HIYA, and thx once again for your kind help.

yes we have booked our tickets with silk air.

we only have 7-8 days break and thought of going to indonesia,gilli's(never been but its wet season and better go in june), or thailand(been there 5-6 times) but we thought time won't be enough and babies will get tired from travelling long.

so langkawi it is.

please fire away!

firstly, you got caps lock when you type in the subject line :wink:

i suggest you rent a car when you get to the airport. there will be lots of car rental company at the airport. once you got a car, your choice of hotels are better as some of the hotels are not near any town. driving there is easy.

for your hotel, i suggest datai or tanjung rhu. you cant go wrong with them. they are excellent.

Datai and Tanjung Rhu are lovely, but hugely expensive and way out of the way, and nowhere near where they want to go.

Sorry can't help with the hotel as always stay at Bon Ton, which is lovely old malay huts, but you have to like cats and it isn't much good for children.

There are lotso fo nice places to stay near Cenang. Langkawi website has good details. Have fun.

the things are expensive in langkawi resorts. However, if you managed to go to their supermarket. Their Beer are extremely cheap. Reason being that langkawi was the hometown of the EX malaysian PM. the residents there gets most of the stuff TAX Free. There is even a museum which showcase all the present mahamir got during this stint as Prime minister.

How cheap is cheap? the last time i went there. 1 bottle of mineral water= $1.30 ringgit. a can of Tiger = 1.30ringgit. anyone wanna tiger? hehe
