Public Holidays in Singapore

Post by nicrs » Sun, 03 Feb 2008 7:14 pm

Hello, I'm new to Singapore and not sure how public holidays work here. Would everywhere be closed for chinese new year? How about restaurants and taxi services? Thanks in advance!

Usually most shops and restaurants are open for most public holidays except 2 major ones - Christmas and Chinese New Year. But in recent years, you can find more shops and restaurants opens during these 2 major holidays. I understand that some supermarts even opened on the first day of Chinese New Year but with shorter opening hours. As for restaurants, try check out non chinese food.

hope that helps.
