Singapore Sightseeing?

Post by queeqeg » Thu, 31 Jan 2008 2:09 pm

Hi there,

Is anyone interested in sightseeing around Singapore? I'm new here so looking for touring buddies. I'm thinking:

1) Palua Ubin
2) Kusu Island
3) Sungei Buloh Wetlands
4) Bird Park
5) MacRitchie Reservoir

And also looking for more suggestions!

Cheers

Queeqeg

-While you are at Pulau Ubin, check out Chek Jawa.
-And you may wanna try Changi boardwalk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Changi_Boardwalk).
-Try labrador Park,
-the newly opened "The HortPark"
- Kent Ridge Park where they have the Canopy Walk - great view

some of the above can be found at http://www.nparks.gov.sg/.

have fun.

Hi
yeah, definitely interemted in doing some touring, but only available over week-ends and am around over the Chinese New Year if you're planning on doing any of these next week.
I've been to the bird park but haven't done any of the others yet. There's also the zoo and the night safari -I've heard they're both worth the visit.
PM me with your contact details and pref w.r.t. timing.

Sungei Buloh Wetlands

Post by queeqeg » Tue, 12 Feb 2008 9:59 am

Hi Everyone,

I'm thinking of checking out the Sungei Buloh Wetlands for their monthly "Prawn Watch". There's a blurb on their website on it: http://www.sbwr.org.sg/events/prawnwatch/

That's on March 15th. I'd like to do something before that as well, maybe March 1st. Anyone have a preference? If not, I'd like to suggest the Bird Park.

BTW: I can't send private messages. I keep getting a "I haven't posted enought to this forum" message.

Check the tide level of the day if you planned to visit Check Jawa - since most of the creatures can only be seen on the low tide, less than a metre. The information on the tide can be found somewhere in Pulau Ubin website.

Hi Queeqeg,

I am a recent ex-pat from New York City - have been here all of 3 weeks. Don't know too many people here and would love to make new friends. The few people I do know are only interested in drinking, not exploring SG and that gets old fast. Would love to meet some other newbies interested in exploring SG. Let me know what you would like to try and I'd love to join.
