importing second hand computers

Post by grumpcit » Thu, 31 Jan 2008 8:48 am

I'm moving to singapore from hong kong. Anybody know whether import duty is payable on a secondhand computer, or where I can find out, or would it be better to sell it here and buy in Singapore?

I believe that personal goods brought in are not dutiable at all.

In any event, with the 20 zillion PC's that pass through Changi airport everyday, it would be nigh on impossible to verify if someone was bringing in a PC for resale purposes.
