for the apology and comments on it.

My god! Not another politician scoring points at the tax payers expense, although it will also be noted in the history books, and I'm happy for those that have suffered, that they have at long last been, recognised, but not yet ridiculed, that it's all a publicity stunt.

It wreaks of superior power, and what one would expect from the higher echelons of the Colonial powers that be...One Big Joke!

Why they haven't expressed the sorry long ago, in actions, rather than leaving it, for this timely moment beats me...and if the government is anything like the UK, then it's meaningless poppy cock, to put it mildly.

Let the world see actions not words, or promises!

Before flaming me please consider the difference between acknowledging something done in the past was wrong and making an apology.

Couldn't have said it better (well maybe I could have but I was probably busy holding up my armour)

And with regard to an acknowledgement of the entire sorry matter, the Howard government most certainly did that, from memory about 6 or 7 years ago.

It's nice to be loved.

Try and avoid personal insult in the future please - Mod.

BTW this is 21st centrury so 20/19/18 centuries are centuries ago. Sorry for being in the now. In any case you missed the refernce to middle of last century which coincides with ur 60's point of call.

Anyway what's your problem, I whole heartidly support an apology and making amend for deeds done.

I am Australian and very proud of it.

And speaking from within one of the victomised groups of Australia I fully understand and appreciate the plight of the aborigine. Let's not forget the colonial treatment of RC Agrarian Convicts and the still in place distribution of wealth/land in rural areas of NSW towards the free settlers and those sent to control the convicts upon release.

We could even claim to have had nothing to do with what happened to the Aborgines becuase we were in just as bad a position as them until the labour movement kicked in. But we don't.

That said the British Govt should also be apologising to the Aborigines, to us, to India, Singapore, Malaysia, the entire human race.

And before you start on my typing and grammer - I know, but hey, its a forum not a thesis.

bit sensitive eh bafana?

when you talk about apologising for something that happened "centuries ago" in a thread about errrr......making an apology to the aboriginies of the stolen generation, which happened 40-50 years ago.....ya might wanna make it clear what your are actually referring to. otherwise people might think you are a numbskull......

and what made you think i'd correct your grammar?? unless you're sensitive about that too?

Its that time of the month lah.

(Said comment proving without doubt I am a true Aussie Male)

Sry if too agro.

In my opinion they should be apologising about everything from day one so we can start afresh. Probably missed the point that we were only talking aboiut the lost generations since feel very strongly about the whole state of affairs.

OK Bafana, I've had it with you.
I don't normally criticise other posters but since you are a fellow Aussie, I feel compelled to say that you sound like a right moron. The content of your last few posts is nothing short of gobbledy-gook ! PLEASE give up the grog or whatever it is that's troubling your tiny brain, unless of course you're from Tassie and then- well- I guess it's not your fault.
