Hi gals, how would you know where to meet for the first day of training and what to wear? or it would be stated during the briefing before the training starts? thank you! =)

You don't expect them to let you wander around, do you? Of course they will tell you the time and venue for your training, eventually. They're professionals you know, no matter what airline they are.

By the way, try not to open a new topic every time you have a question. You're wasting too much database space you know that?

TRAINING!

Post by chica86 » Wed, 13 Feb 2008 11:06 am

Hi, everyone! I have some question marks about the SIA cabin crews wannabees who are from malaysia.
Are the procedures for employment differ from the singaporean?
So far, I know that their call for training maybe wud take longer..
But I need to know if accommodation is provided during training for
Malaysian??

And what about the med check up in Singapore, do we do the med check up
and then go straight to training or we do the med check up in Singapore 1st, and then come back to M'sia then wait for their call again for the training date in Singapore?

Help, I'm confuse! :???:

chica86: hi there. i'm a malaysian myself too and now awaiting SIA to apply the work pass for me before i can start training.

first of all, from what i know, SIA do not provide any accomodation for foreign stewardess, whether you're training or not. i travel in n out of JB everyday, so i know. i have msian frens who find places near the airport n its more convenient to go to work. travel expenses (cab fares) are given out through a lump sum, its like "too bad" if u stay far from the airport. =)

secondly, i went back to JB after i had my medical check up. i think you can go back if you want to, cause it'll take a longer time for foreigners to be notified of the results, but make sure you can be reached. =)

the terms of employment are more or less the same, just that we have longer probation periods (if i'm not wrong) and longer bond period too. sporeans' is about 22 mths for the bond, msian 25 mths. meaning u cant leave the company with this period, or else there will be a penalty of $13k.

hope i've answerd your question, and best of luck to both of us for the work pass application! =)

Hi, yingying! Thanks for the info.. :)
Btw, I got their email today..
They said I'll need to prepare to go to singapore within 2 weeks, as I need to undergo a med check up there and start training on March 8.
But didn't say anything about going back here after the med check up?
I guess after med check up I start training already..

Well, then I'll need to sacrifice a bit..find my own accom during training..
Thanks again, can't wait to start training!
I believe I can FLY!!
