Washing Machines & Fridge

Post by Summertea » Sun, 20 Jan 2008 11:12 pm

Hi, i've just gotten my new home and like to check if you have any recommendations on which brands to get for washing machines and fridge.

I like those washing machines which are energy saving, with the green labels on but i'm not sure if they last or they spoil fast. Any recommendations?

As for fridge, i've actually decided to get a Samsung fridge with the water and ice dispenser on the door. Any feedbacks on this kind of fridge? Issit hard to maintain or clean?
I can resist everything but temptations...

I'm not sure whether Singapore has a similar organization, but in Australia there is the Australian Consumer Association which actually does the comparison between all the different products and gives an evaluation of value (dollar value, energy saving, water saving ,etc ).

They have a publication called Choice magazine, which is viewable online to subscribers ($18.95 every 3 months). More popular articles are only for members only (fridges, washing machines etc), but others are free to read online.

I would suggest having hot water too! Cold water machines are bad for getting some stains out, like oil off bycyle chains.

Washing machine for me has to be front load with propers options on temperatures, washing modes, and spin time. Brand wise: Electrolux or Miele.

Not really particular about fridge, me, but generally I choose one with simple design - yes, you right, complicated design makes it difficult to really clean it.
