Hello all,
This seems like a great resource, I'm glad I found it.
I am headed out to Sing and expect to be there for at least 3 months (US citizen).
I am looking for cheap, safe, clean living quarters (furnished) in a decent area. I'm not that familiar with Singapore, but it would be ideal to be fairly close to downtown.
I know there are a number of luxury serviced aparts listed on various sites, but these are way out of my budget. Furthermore, most of these place list multiple beds and baths, when I only require a simple studio.
My priority preferences:
- Studio
- Reasonable price
- Furnished
- Internet access
- Decent / clean / safe location
Any suggestions?
Many thanks in advance all.

for 3 months, it will most probably be
Service Apartment. most long term apartments are minimum 1 year tenancy contract.
have a look at
www.thehotelalternatives.com. not quite
Service Apartments, more like service "room". what you are renting is a room in a
condo. you can either rent the ensuite which has a ensuite bathroom or the normal room with share bathroom. you get a shared kitchen as well.

Housing Policy in Singapore

What do you think would be the next housing policy to cool the demand?
I noticed new condo launches are selling like crazy and prime HDBs are going...

Yeah, prices are getting wild — even resale HDBs in mature estates are creeping past $1M regularly now.
My guess is they might tighten loan limits...
