How long does it take to find work?

Post by ladybirdv » Tue, 15 Jan 2008 2:31 pm

I'm from Australia, and finished a Marketing degree about a year ago. I worked casually whilst I was in Uni, and have worked full-time in the Marketing/Advertising industry for over 6months.

I'm thinking of moving to Singapore in early 2009, I just came back and really loved it. I'm worried however that I won't be able to find a job? Will it be really difficult for me? I'm willing to lower my expectations...also if i'm considering starting work in 2009, what's the best time for me to start applying for jobs?

Thank you!!!

To be honest its incredibly difficult. I've been here 4 months without luck - and I have 5 years experience in marketing in Oz. Definitely wait until you have a job before you move here. Also expect much lower salary than in Oz... but other than that Singapore is a great place to live and we're having a ball! My lack of job aside ;)
