How much for a small condo?

Post by kauto » Sun, 06 Jan 2008 6:24 am

My first post so hi all. Looking for a bit of impartial feedback.

My condo in Singapore will be empty shortly and I will be looking for someone to take over. It's in District 11, full condo facilities. 1+1, around 500 sq feet so a smallish unit suitable for a single professional or a couple. I currently live in Europe and although I do keep up with all the developments property-wise, it's always good to hear what people on the ground think. How much would something like that fetch rent-wise in the current market?

Also, where is the best place to post ads (preferably free) to attract some reliable professionals? The postings in the 'places offered' forum on this site seem to be dominated by agents. I have also looked at Gumtree.

The reason that the ads here seem to be filled by agents is because this site is a real estate portal geared to expats and this forum is provided free by them. Therefore the primary use of the site is to gather eyeballs to their operations and property listings.

The age of you unit is also a major deciding factor as once a unit is 15 years old it is always subject to the latest crap of en bloc sales. Would agree with QualityMana statements as well.

Currently the rental market as far as i known. For new apartment rental at Icon is placing themselves at $8psf. For a studio fetch about $4500.

So you may use this as a compare.

Have a nice day.

As an owner of a property who is not residing in Singapore, probably the best thing for you to do is to work with an agent whom you can trust. You may wish to get people you know to give you referrals.

The agent will be able to provide you with the proper adivce on your apartment.
