ok,...

first of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

now down to the serious stuff...
i'm after some advice/tips/general help about relocating to singapore. i will be teaching at an International School in the orchard area and need a place to rent for 19 months. i am single 26/f currently living in perth, western australia and the pre-moving nerves have well and truly taken over!
i have tried to post on the forums before now but had some difficulty, then my posts disappeared??
anyway, my situation is this - i can't really afford to rent a place on my own (only small housing allowance included in salary - $1000 a month?) so would like to share. BUT i don't know anyone yet, so where's the best place to find a similar age person to share with?? and what district would be cheaper yet still not too far from orchard bvld?
also, would like to get in touch with an agent before i get to singapore - can anyone recommend a good agency that they've had good luck with?

i'm just scared that i will be 'taken for a ride', so to speak, as i have no experience in finding rental properties in perth, let alone singapore.

HELP HELP HELP!!
thanks

I suggest you to rent a room, sometimes ago my nephew rent a room with a shared toilet in Dhoby Ghaut area for sgd 600 / month. this is including electricity & washing (a maid is provided to wash your clothes).
ask property agent / your colleagues to find out

Your school should be helping you find a place to live. Where exactly are you going to teach?
