Exactly my point, seems like a punishment posting more than a career move! But only the OP, will have any idea of that, I guess!

There is like a 20,000 pound cut, but it also depends which Country he's in, they are like saying well, all we have done, is keep the UK tax that you pay, because tax is lower...but, what they have not taken into consideration, is the rapid excelleration in prices in Singapore, and also the tax he must pay here..too, along with car purchase, which is crazy...plus education for kids, I'd most certainly not except, myself, I would want at least another 35 to 40K, to compensate for overseas allowances.

Otherwise he may suffer a downgrade in lifestyle too.. Mind you I did it :) to support my wife...money isn't everything to me...but it is to many people!

Hope you have settled in over there now! I thought you loved this place! was it the job, that finished?
