Best Area to live in ?

Post by TPFKASF » Thu, 27 Dec 2007 10:35 am

I might be relocating from Shanghai to Singapore and am browsing through this forum for some time now.

What are good areas to live in ? I come alone so close to shopping areas /restaurants and night life would be nice...where do I look ?

thanks a ton already

Hi,

roughly how much is your budget and how many rooms r u looking for? Apartments that are nearer to town area tend to be more expensive...so i guess hv to find a match between your budget and the location.

i will have to negotiate my budget really, i did some research on the property site here and am a bit confused. In initial talks I was told that it would be around 10k sin$ for something proper, but having had a first look somewhat acceptable ones seem to come for around 2-3k a month already.
Does anyone have a recommendation in general ? What is the downtown area called when I look it up ? Any other areas that are nice and recommendable ? close to the beach , typical expat areas ?

are you sure you were not looking on the for sale pages and you were seeing 2-3million ?

districts 9,10,11 are the main expat haunts. Pop these into the search and I'm sure you get closer to your $10k :D ....
