IVF in Singapore

Post by dschneer » Wed, 19 Dec 2007 7:42 am

Hello Everyone

We just found out that we will have to go for IVF. Does anyone have experiences, good or bad, with IVF in Singapore. More importantly, could anyone recommend doctors as well as give an idea about fees? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

While not having any first-hand anecdotal evidence about IVF, here are some local links for your perusal. Hopefully, there are some readers here who have been there and done that.

While I haven't gone through IVF personally - I've had 3 friends who've successfully conceived via IVF with Dr. Ann Tan at Mt. Elizabeth (2 of which flew here to Singapore especially to see her). I've heard that her bedside manner can be a bit cold - but she is the top of the field in infertility. From what I've seen with my friends is it's a pretty long process - from harvesting the eggs through to implantation. One friend did 3 cycles - but all have healthy babies and one is expecting twins! Hope this helps :)

We did our IVF in Australia, so I can't actually answer your question (I can only speak about IVF in general, not in Singapore), but I wanted to say good luck and hang in there.

I don't have firsthand experience in IVF but was just wondering if you were also utilizing alternative therapies to help your body "take" to your treatments. I've had friends that had successes after getting therapies such as acupuncture, chiropractic, etc.

Just a thought.

Wishing you "sticky" thoughts! 8-)

I haven't got any experience with IVF, but I know that Dr Foong at OG Partners at Gleneagles Hospital (http://www.ogpartners.com/) specialises in it. He's very pleasant.

Hi David,

If u want u can try to go to Thomson Fertility Center. U have to prepare around $10K-15K (SGD). Anyway when u go there, they will explain to u in details the whole process. But most impt is u and ur wife have to be mentally prepared other than financially as u will be going through stressfull processes. U can PM me if you want to know specific details...

All the best!
