what's the diff between Landed PR and EPEC

Post by matsupilami » Tue, 18 Dec 2007 3:59 pm

Hi all....
I'm newbee here...
I'm planning to find job and move to Spore ASAP. btw, I'm an IT fresh graduate from selected university qualifications approved by MOM.
I heard that once you got your landed PR, it will be easier for you to find job.
My question is what is the difference between landed PR and EPEC (Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate). Do we need to get both of them? Can we apply EPEC by our own? is it true that there is no charge for EPEC?

did anyone try to apply landed PR through SMC? how long it takes and what is the possibility for the fresh graduate like me?

any sharing, responses, advices will be appreciate. Thank you.

I've seen other posts in this forum that LPR requires less paperwork for the employer hence it is easier to land a job because of that. Try and see older posts in the forum as there may be similar question in the past.

you can apply for EPEC online thru www.mom.gov.sg and its FREE.Once you're approved it will be mailed to you.You can go anytime to singapore and apply your EPEC to ICA so u can stay for a year legally in SG until you find a job.ICA require some documents and medical report for they give you your temporary ID
