Hey, im also thinking of going somewhere that time. Was thinking of flying to Tioman to avoid the long bus journey and get more time on the island. if not, somewhere else you can fly to..

Post by Koukla » Wed, 02 Jul 2008 10:29 pm

hi everyone,

i'm a lapsed scuba diver (i've been living in england for 5 yrs...)
Now that i am in Singapore, i'm keen to do a refresher course over a weekend in thailand / malaysia.

Has anyone done this and can you suggest some company names / websites and places?

here I am in Tioman, Malaysia and just had my dive with warm and friendly staff from East Divers. Nice laid back environment, pristine water..what more can i ask for a good weekday afternoon!

Post by run.freedom » Fri, 18 Jul 2008 5:26 pm

Hi,

I'm new to the diving scene..which dive shop is recommended in Singapore to get my open water certification?

I was told to avoid a particular dive shop in Clark Quay area though

Singapore Coral Triangle Reef Expedition 2008

Post by weiyongChong » Tue, 22 Jul 2008 3:17 pm

Hi Friends,

We've just confirmed the vessel that we'll be using for the Singapore Coral Triangle Reef Expedition. As it is bigger than the originally intended vessel, we are able to take in a couple more people for each leg of the Expedition.

Image

This is the schedule for Guests (no work involved... just eat, sleep and dive) that are joining us for each leg of the expedition. We've informed them to book flights at least +/- 1 day before and after scheduled arrival of the vessel. For Layang Layang and Randayan, they only need to fly one way, so those are actually the best legs to come on board. The Komodo / Wakatobi would probably be the most interesting leg for many of us.

This is a "Sail and Dive" trip. The full price for participation based on the brochure is actually USD $3,550 per person per leg, the prices listed below are special divers' rates. (Expedition Brochure can also be downloaded from: www.lemlabs.org/reefexpedition08brochure.pdf if the 3mb file is to big to be forwarded to your friends)

Leg 1 Layang Layang (9D/8N) S$2,573.50 per pax full board, unlimited LOB diving

Depart 31 Aug - Singapore
Return 8 Sep - Layang Layang (Flight: Kota - Sing)

Leg 2 Sipadan (7D/6N) S$2,677.50 per pax full board, unlimited diving LOB diving

Depart 9 Sep - Layang Layang (Flight: Sing - Kota)
Return 15 Sep - Tawau (Flight: Tawau - Kota, Kota - Sing)

Leg 3 Bunaken (7D/6N) S$1,882.50 per pax full board, unlimited diving LOB diving

Depart 16 Sep - Tawau (Flight: Sing - Kota, Kota - Tawau)
Return 22 Sep - Manado (Flight: Manado - Sing)

Leg 4 Komodo (11D/10N) S$3,573.50 per pax full board, unlimited diving LOB diving

Depart 23 Sep - Manado (Flight: Sing - Manado)
Return 3 Oct - Bali (Flight: Bali - Sing)

Leg 5 Randayan (9D/8N) S$2,573.50 per pax full board, unlimited diving LOB diving

Depart 4 Oct - Bali (Flight: Sing - Bali)
Return 12 Oct - Sing

Note:
- Additional Bonus = 3 Paying + 1 FOC
- A Fuel Surcharge may be imposed based on fuel prices during the expedition
- Marine Park fees may apply for some dive areas if the participants choose to visit the particular area

We are closing our registration once the boat is full. Right now we have a total of 17 divers including myself on the list of which 6 are coming along for the entire journey.

Now this is what you need in your flat.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBnqPHPU ... re=related

Reminds me of a private residential project I worked on, the owner wanted a dive pool in the middle of his house with a secret cave at the bottom to get away from the wife

Unfortunately logistic, cost and safety issues put an end to a great idea.

Also finding mistresses with dive certs was proving to be problem

Thanks for the the tips in this post. I was looking for a place to get a wetsuit and stumbled here.

I just had my first pool dive (PADI OW) and got "hooked" already

Floating at 0G under water is just so cool! I can't wait for the Tioman trip.

Happy diving, and hope to see you guys in one of the trips some day!
