Post by Bafana » Wed, 12 Dec 2007 10:19 am

Anyone know of any day care 3-4 hours a day 5 days a week near Parkway Parade to look after a 7 month old baby whilst I am at work and the mother is attending course?

Thanks

Any idea on price or cost effective alternatives.

If we are talking about 4 hours a day five days a week maybe a maid woiuld be cheaper?

Any opinions?

Bafana, most childcare centres won't take kids under 18 months and don't offer "flexi care" schemes - that is, not full day or half day care (every day). Some do, but it'll be only marginally cheaper than everyday care anyway.

Infant care centres (any child under 18 months) are a lot more expensive and they tend to have huge waiting lists. I would recommend you get a helper, either live in or part time. A can of worms that, of course, but sometimes it's just the easiest option and the one that will probably cause the least disruption to your child.

I know you aren't suppose to do this, but maybe you may have friend, condo mate, who has a helper who may be allowed to help you out for the hours you are speaking about. Good luck.
