Never had a sony cybershot, although I would

1.plug in the usb and make sure the computer finds the storage device by looking for the drive. at stage 2.

2. double Click on my computer to locate the memorystick/memory card,

3.open the memorystick by double clicking on the icon, until there is no more folders to open, (make a note of the folder adresses if more than one folder)so that you can then locate easier, when they are in the camera!

Locate photos, mark all, or chose individual pics and copy by drag and drop, just drag and drop photo's onto the storage device! If the camera is memory card or SD Card, your computer may have a slot, to insert memory....But I have a feeling with Sony, it will be memory stick.

ksl, thanks for your reply. I found all the folders you mentioned but unfortunately, as my luck would have it, it didn't let me drop the pictures I dragged from my computer.

Have you tried to copy and paste them in? If you can confirm what memory it has, I may be able to figure it out!

It could be that only one folder is specifically designated, for photo's! I'll find out for you!

Hi, I'm back again, check this link out, it appears Microsoft application and Sony have a problem, although you need to check the model number of your cybershot on the sony website, and search to see, if there are any issues..you can also let me know the full model details of your camera, with the s/number too, also the memory stick if it is using one, it maybe easier for me to sort it out or find the answer!

Ok, then its a memory stick problem, I guess! So need the model number too, but you can also check, that the lock is not switched on, so you cannot transfer or delete...there are a few models, so when you get a chance post the details!, You should also have a software management panel for transfereing data,,music and photo's, on the CD which came with the camera, this must be installed first! I believe memory stick, you cannot transfer the same, like normal external storage device.

Ughhhh ok. Complicated, and very tedious, but thank you soooo very much for taking the time to tell me this. As I find out more information, be prepared that I will come up with some silly "duh!" questions. As you can tell, I am not an equipment savy person. I guess that's why I am a girl, and you are a boy (I think?) well, judging from your bulging abs anyway :D Thanks for putting up with me, ksl!

sony cybershot comes with a special side clip-on USB cable adaptor.

the computer plug and play should prompt you with a pop-up window to view the folder \\DCIM\\101MSDCF

drag and drop pics into that folder.

But to view it on the camera itself, the file name must be DSCxxxxx.JPG.
