Financial job market

Post by Ch33s3cak3 » Mon, 10 Dec 2007 3:40 pm

Hi all,
I would really appreciate it if someone can tell me the truth on how easy/hard it is to find a job in the financial industry considering that you are new in Singapore, you do not know anyone and you do not have any financial work experience. With a LPR status, how long does it take to get a job and what type of positions should that person be expecting to get? In my case, I have double degrees in economics & finance from a Canadian university, and I have passed level 1 of CFA examination. I need a reality check and any help is really appreciated. Thank you. =)

should depend on what part of the industry you want. From my experience it is quite hard to just show up in Singapore and get a job as a foreigner. Passing the CFA level 1 is very helpful though.

out of curiosity what school did you graduate from? and how long ago? I just recently graduated with finance from a Canadian university as well.
