The employer probably would choose the LPR over the EP as it's less paperwork for them. Costs is also in the long run more them as well but not so much in the first 2 years as the company contribution to the CPF fund is as a much lower rate before it kicks in at 14.5% of the salary. For most employers, if you have the knowledge & Experience that they need and no locals to fill it then the EP is easy. If your knowledge and experience is easily found then the employer may have a harder time getting an Employment Pass approved so then the LPR is the way to go. 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.
