Live Bands?

Post by AfroToast » Sun, 09 Dec 2007 1:17 am

Hey, I was hoping i could find out here; want to find places with live music that don't require you to be 18/+. the situation is that i was hoping to bring the band to see some for some experience, but we are all sixteen, so yeah.

on a side note, I feel like advertising for gigs, but theres this big orange thing here that says advertisements will be deleted. so...

No there should not be any fee you need to pay. They're my friends, so maybe I can help you find out where the bands are playing and will ask if it's in a bar or a dining place or something. Most of the time, live bands play in bars and that's why there's an age issue for you.

What instruments in particular? It'd help if you could tell me if you wanna watch a good bassist or drummer or keyboard player and what type of music you guys are interested in.

well, we mostly want to see them play, like what kind of routines, songs, and basically see how gigs work out. how they handle the audience etc. if you need, my email is insomnia.1014@gmail.com

as for what kind of instruments, well. i think we want to see how the better bands coordinate when playing songs, not so much any instruments in particular.'

What type of music, maybe, rock, oldies etc.

Will have to find out and get back to you. Most of the musicians I know are 2-3 piece with one of them being the singer. Singer and guitar, or singer and keys and guitar or percussion.

How about Prince Of Wales?
If I am not wrong, they always look for new bands too. Ask for Alex the Entertainment Manager if you think your band is good enough to perform.

Have a look at www.pow.com.sg

Hi,

I noticed this thread and wondered if I could get some information as well?

I am moving over to Singapore from the UK later this year and I am hoping to hook up with some musicians. I play the guitar and I am mainly into rock music.

What is the music scene like over there?

Thanks in advance.

Hi super_star. I have read that you know lots of musician. I hope you can also introduce me to them. Do they play in the bar in the hotel? Do they also have an agent. Sorry for lots of question. I used to sing in the hotel bar in h.k and we have an agent in h.k so i was just curious if it's also the same in Singapore. Also 2- 3 piece band. I hope you can give me information. Thanks in advance! :)

Hi Time. I don't know anybody yet in SIngapore. I'll just be there next month. I can sing variety of songs, so i don't know if i just want to sing w/ a piano player or maybe with another singer also. I'll see, maybe i'll go to the hotels later to see. Are they also singing in the hotel bar? Thanks for your reply, then maybe i'll also look for my member later and look for my own gig.
