no, what i meant was, if i setup my VoIP using SIP to a normal landline telephone, i wont be able to config it to goto voicemail at certain hours (like when i sleep!) into my VoIP provider.

so when people ring me on my VoIP number, SIP will route it to my normal landline telephone (just the telephone, not singtel). but at night, i want it to route it to voicemail so that i can pick it up when i login using a web browser.

sounds complex, but will mess about with the config if i can get it working.

Have you managed to get it sorted.

What's the recommened SIP gateway modem these days any idea? Grandstream 486 used to be the top for a long while, but i'm out of touch and need to know, what's happening out there!

wah, sorted long time ago oledi la. i am using the excellent draytek vigor 2910VG on starhub. most of my gear are draytek. they are rock solid reliablility. just checked my other vigor 2820Vn uptime and it's been up without a reboot for months!

if you dont have SIP support on your router, another popular choice is the linksys PAP2 (or a AVM Fritz!Box). grandstream is still there but big player like siemens, philips and nokia are getting in.
