goodie luck..~
do you know the procedures of the interview (Emirates)? is it similiar to SIA? Im wondering should i apply... its kind of too far away from home if based in Dubai.![]()
if you think it's too far away then you should think again.. it's BASED in Dubai dear.. if you're really seriously (101%) gonna go for an FA job.. you shld go all out in gettin it..~ to each his own though..
my childhood friend told me you can change shift with fellow colleagues for flights to sg sometimes..~ she comes back to sg once in few months and she's enjoying life now..~*~i envy her~*
the pay at emirates is higher or lower if were to compare with SIA? I actually want to fly with SIA , never think of other airlines...
btw, emirates open day at Kl is on 6th Jan ... should i go?
yeah...have to apply online first before attend the interview..lipcolor wrote:last year i did ask how the interview's like.. she said she's forgotten bout it..as it was many years back.. only told me to try apply online first..~ (she's seldom online) when i see her in msn again i'll ask her..~

Emirates Interview
I have once tried Emirates interview during july. The 1st part also consist of group of 10ppl. But 1 thing diff frm SIA is that there is no self-intro...but group discussion on d topic given. You will need to rise your hand and wait for your turn 2 speak
(most impt not to interrupt others when their talking)
my group got 4 gals selected
If your selected, you'll be asked to return to the interview location for a briefing provided by the interview company.
This is the good thing abt Emirates. They will get u ready for their next interview.
I didn't attend the 2nd round interview..but
the 2nd round is also in group discussion of 10ppl. But this time round the interview is done by Emirates staff. there is also 1-1 interview atr that.
Emirates pay is actually more than SIA cause they pay for all your housind expenses in Dubai. But abt d experiences to stayin Dubai is quite personal. If u r those that look forward in experiencind diff culture n lifestyle...Emirates n Dubai base is no problem for u.
i hup this help...any1 that wish to add..please do cause i cant remember the whole detail.
gd luck to all that intend to try Emirates.

My 21st birthday was in October. I went for the interview in September. I made it all the way til the finals. 3 weeks after the final interview, all my friends got their results (positive or negative) except me. Apparently they said that my application was put on hold by the officers in Dubai until I reach 21. Altogether, from the date of my final interview til the date I received my positive result was 6 weeks. If your 21st birthday is any later than 3 months after the walk-in, it's better to wait for the next one, or when the time is right.rainschocolate wrote:i'm 21 next year, but not yet in the january..

hey, just give it a try. doesnt matter that your age is older.
emirates wont mind your age old. if you never try. you will regret it.

Thanks for your support! I will be going for it on the 6 Jan.Have you tried before? I really wanna fly badly.......
Here's an outline of the recruitment process, hope it helps...
Open Day
You can go anytime from 9am to 4pm to hand in your CV/application forms. Not sure whether things have changed now cos my interview was a year ago. Those successful on this day - which includes arm reach test and a discussion round selection - will be notified of returning for briefing on the same day. My group then consisted of 10 ppl and 2 of us were selected. Open Day here is conducted by the airline-assigned agency and it's only a 'screening' process. During this briefing you will be advised of your Assessment Day, which will be carried out by the EK Recruiting Officers.
Assessment Day
Assessment Day is about 2 weeks after Open Day. It lasts all day starting with knowing more about EK and Dubai + FAQ, follow by various tasks - 1) discussion, 2) another arm reach / appearance check, 3) English proficiency test, 4) final group discussion. There are 3 elimination rounds as the day progresses. So if you're successful throughout you could be there from 8.30am to 5~7pm. At the end of Assessment Day for those successful, you sit for your Psycometric papers and be informed of date for Final Interview.
Final Interview
This is conducted by the EK Recruiting Officers and usually takes place very soon after Assessment Day. There will be documents you have to prepare and bring with you. Result of Final Interview will be made to you either via email or phone call from Dubai, 2-6 weeks after your Final Interview.
Good luck to those going. Just be yourself and have fun!
