Coke as already been blown to bits by the japanese, it's a drink that is guaranteed, to extract calcium from your bones! Although I do have one now and again, not very often.

I mean to have a healthy lifestyle does, take effort! I don't care if people don't make the effort, it's their problem. There is no need to scrap all the junk food either, it's all about, moderation, and remembering your metabolism, decreases at 1% per year.

Check out coke http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coca-Cola_Zero

Sodium benzoate is reported to be a danger for health in 2007, by a leading british university, it turns into benzene if it comes into contact with vitamin C. The business is too big, to pull the plug, because it's in all fizzy drinks, not just coke, investigations are under way, although that will be too late for many heavy drinkers.
there goes my only hope.....

thanks, that was a good read

Aspartame is the main ingredient in coke zero or coke light.
If you don't wanna ruin your health further, just quit drink it.

Here is some additional reading so just to get as balanced viewpoint. I hate yellow journalism. The website link below is from the National Cancer Institute of the U.S. National Institutes of Health.

The jury is still out on this one. It's a clear case of scaremongering just like the Biphenol A scare in polycarbonate bottles. Lots of maybes, possibilities, could bes but no conclusive proof. Even the study noted above do not use purified Aspartame but uses a compound that also has other chemicals in it. Also the dosages where way higher than what the average human would in their right minds consume. Nothing was mentioned if the other chemicals could have caused anything either. The problem with the experiment was that it was conducted by a amateur and the results not much better.

Additionally, Drinking 8~12 cans of regular soda a day everyday, with sugar would have horrendous results as well like diabetes and probably morbid obesity. So lets look at all this with a bit of sanity instead of scaremongering shall we?

8-10 cans is very doable for people who love coke.
I know of some kids who can drink 1 - 2 1.5liter bottles a day and that replaces water in itself.

Why subject yourself to such chemical and do yourself harm?

Don't believe everything that comes out of a government body, most of it are driven by profits and are political in nature. Research can be so biased as to who is paying for it.

I agree with you whole heartedly. But I also believe in showing different viewpoints. Government bodies and "special interest" groups and scaremongering "treehuggers" all have their own agendas. This is why I also post contradictory viewpoints. This way the reader has either more facts or less BS at the their disposal so they can weigh the pros & cons and make educated decisions themselves. You just like somebody on the other side both have your reasons for holding on to those ideas (your's may well be a valid one. Or, like DDT, a power play to support your own personal believes even though at the moment, the jury is still out.
Just because you say it doesn't make it so, same goes for me. But at least with multiple viewpoints then the reader can make their own choices.

This reminded me of the DDT crap that happened years ago (which I'm sure you were too young to remember - or may well not even been born yet) I was a young adult back then....

However, from my point of view, given a choice of continuing to take something that has be proven, without a doubt, to contribute to Obesity, Diabetes and a host of other ailments like sugar does, or take a chance with something that is sugar free and only possibly will cause tumors or other problems provided you give unrealistic massive doses. (nothing conclusively has actually been proven yet as all the studies show - only maybe, possibly or somesuch) I think I'll take the chance with Aspartame.

Of course the counter argument of "do you want to take a chance?" while also has merit, at the same time you "seemingly" condone the consumption of large quantities of normal sugared coke which contributes to diabetes and morbid obesity and hosts of other problems as well and it well documented. (That's what you countered my statements with)I have a problem with that.

Anyway, this way our readers can judge for themselves.
