Non surgical Rhinoplasty
Im reposting this because of the loss of data, Im contemplating fillers as i don't think implants are suitable for my lifestyle. Which doctor would you recommend? Danita mentioned that there were fillers in sg below $700.. would anyone know where?
Hi Princessli,
I'm actually in Australia. It's $660 for a 0.3ml syringe of Radiesse which the doctor reckons is what's needed for most noses. I'm pretty sure it'd be cheaper in Singapore. I told him I'd like to get my bridge augmented and maybe work on some tip definition as well.
I'm actually seeing the doc next Saturday (15th) for a consultation. If all goes well, I'll have a natural-looking bridge before Christmas. And then those pesky side-profile pictures that have been the bane of my bridgeless life, will be no more. Well no more for about 12-18 months that is. Radiesse only lasts a max of 18 months. Seeing as it'll take me forever to save up to go to BKK for surgery (I'm also saving up for braces) I thought I might use this as a bridging solution (pun fully intended).
And of course I'll definitely do a post-consultation post.
A friend of mine had a friend whose friend (I know, I know) had her bridge augmented with fillers back home in Singapore. Apparently it looked good for a few months and then small, red zit-like bumps started to appear. I have no idea what filler she used because she's not my friend, but I've read that permanent fillers like artefil (sp?) reportedly have that side effect. In fact, my Doc actually does not recommend using permanent fillers for the moment till more research is done on them.
And I guess the last thing to note is that from looking at pictures, using fillers to augment your nose will not give you a radically different nose. There's only so much a bit of liquid can do anyway. I have a low bridge, relatively thin sides and OK tip definition. I want a natural-looking nose with minimal changes, hence I'm opting for fillers for now. If you'd like quite a substantial change, then I don't think you'd be happy with the outcome of fillers.
But who knows? I might find it too natural and opt for surgery in the end. We'll see.

Yah I did read that, but you know, everything comes with risk.
I had a screwed up infection with my previous augmentation and I had it done by a surgeon that was supposedly the best of the best then, so I'm really aware of the fact that it's a bit of the luck of the draw sometimes. Plus, Toriumi's cases seemed to be of inexperienced/incompetent doctors who injected the filler into the shallow layers of the skin--apparently you need to go deep.
I'm keeping fingers crossed and I know nothing is a sure thing, but the doc I'm seeing actually trains other docs in injecting fillers, so I'm assuming he knows his stuff. Thing is, I have the worst arse luck ever so things might still go wrong.
OMG. Choy! Better not talk about these things before I get the provedure done. Hyuk.
Princessli - Goodness. $1500 for Radiesse? So why on earth is Australia cheaper for once? Weird. I do know that there is a great demand for fillers here because of wrinkly ang mohs though, so perhaps that could be why.

plastic surgery in singapore is really expensive, i wanted to get some stuff done in sydney when i was still studying in australia... aust is def cheaper than sg in terms of PS...
princessli, u stay in sg, u have easy access to all the other asian countries for PS, dun do fillers!
my fren tot that non-invasive will be better cos she scared pain, now she feels that the fillers dun give her as nice definition as our implants, then she now she wants to do implant...
if u did fillers, u have to let most of it be absorbed b4 can do implant, and really weird for ppl to see ur bridge keep fluctuating like that

ROFL nodnod... True aadvark...ill just wait a little longer n go fix it up. Was just impatient like a child wanting candy. But u know...my nose has such a big diff after my surgery no one noticed anything different even after i asked people about my nose, but they say my nose looks nice. OMG n these r ppl who can notice the different shades of colour on a wallpaper or sumting. Either no1 looks at me really that clearly..or they just never had a bad impression of my nose. Thats y i hav no concerns of a changing bridge. I think they wouldnt even notice if i grew a moustache.
Ya the lowest cost of $900 vs $660 is =/ WiSH you ALL the best sweetheart.. HUGS
