Teeth Whitening
If anybody is interested I went to an affordable expat dentist eastside, expat dentist charging local rates. Burlinson Dental Surgery - pretty sure is an Adelaide grad.
Had a couple of veneers and crowns placed as some teeth had big fillings in them already, he matched them up to the colour that the opther teteh were bleached to.
I feel a bit guilty as my dentist back in Oz would be peeved as he had been trying to convince me to have this type of treatment for a fair while.
Feel free to pm me for details or leave your email.

Re: Teeth Whitening
Your smile is important. It is one of the first things you notice when you meet someone. A whiter, brighter smile is beautiful - it can help you feel better about yourself and make a memorable impressionMHS wrote:Anyone know of clinics in Singapore or in Thai that provides good and affordable teeth whitening? The lowest price I've asked is around SGD1000 ....I have naturally neat and well-aligned teeth ... it's not very yellowish but I'm just curious how does it feel like and wish to give a try.I've heard the latest technology of teeth whitening now is by laser...anyone know the costs? And how effective it is?
Is teeth whitening considered a form of PS as well?

Anyone tried home remedies, like using hydrogen peroxide yourself? Heard it works..

I've done the at home treatments.
Crest whitestrips worked but when I first began to whiten my teeth it made them look streaky.
Tried another at home system with the whitening trays and whitening gel. It worked quite well and have been ordering refills since. The company I ordered from was Novawhite and I think they are actually based out of Singapore.

oh dear, someone sent me a really really long post almost a month ago asking about some dental pain related problem, and I only just realised it...
I do apologise for the late replies.
Someone suggested in an earlier post using hydrogen peroxide as a whitening agent, and asked if its effective.
Just to point out that some whitening systems eg. Britesmile / Zoom etc actually do use hydrogen peroxide as the active agent.
So to answer that question, yes it probably will work. The question is at what concentration? It needs to be at a sufficiently high concentration to have any effect.
Also, hydrogen peroxide is inherently unstable, so it's hard to control how you'll store it or use it.
Some whitening systems use other agents like carbamide peroxide, but the mechanism by which they work are all the same.
effectiveness is probably the same too. The concentration used is what's more important.
