Hi there
Snap On smiles is something that is relatively new. It is usually promoted as an option that doesn't require any drilling, is relatively more affordable, much faster and comfortable than other options such as braces or whitening etc.
They are basically something that you fix on your teeth, and can be removed. They are supported by your teeth so your gums do not bear the load and thus are promoted as something that "feels more natural"
All that is great.
However, the Snap on smiles close-up, do not look completely realistic. In fact a dentist can easily tell there's some prosthesis. In normal daily usage, i guess the aesthetics is acceptable to most people, especially if the patient has a low lip line (the upper lip covers most of the gum and 1/3 of the upper portion of the upper front teeth). There are some "before" and "After" photos of snap on smiles on their website, i shan't post the link here cuz not sure if i am allowed to. Go check it out and see if the end result looks acceptable to you.
To get into technical details, the result isn't as "natural" because the junction between any 2 adjacent teeth on the snap-on is broad. Basically they need to make it broad so that there is strength and the snap-on wont just break into many pieces when in function. The down side to this is that this broad contact point between the teeth makes it look less realistic. (Natural teeth are supposed to have a "triangle" between them, filled by gingiva or the pink gums portion between teeth)
The main role i see "snap-on" smiles have is actually as a temporary prosthesis. for example, some treatments may take a long time and while waiting for healing etc, snap-on can be done as a temporary fast measure. Or if you are undecided about something and want snap-on to see how it'll look, or feel like etc.
Alternatively if you see the "After" photos and think hey that looks fantastic, then snap on might be for you.
