Employment Pass Vs EntrePass

Post by rockar » Tue, 23 Oct 2007 5:06 am

I have searched the net and I found there are two ways to get an pass

One is by forming the local company and then applying for the employment pass the second one is applying for entrepass first and after receving it forming a company.

Anybody can tell me which works the best?

a) If you are a foreigner you cannot form a local company. You need a local to do that, someone who would be a nominee director.

b) MOM is well aware of this approach. Why would anyone in their right mind go to the bother of doing a business plan if all one had to do was form a local company and then get an EP.

Short answer: You won't get approved for an employment pass. You must apply for an Entrepass.

Yes I know that I need to have a local director for private limited and this may be done using the nominee director services offered by local agents.

But the problem is some sites claim that there are two ways of getting the pass and also they recommend the Employment pass as it is easy and chances of approval is higher when compared to EntrePass.

I think you have formed you company first and then applied for the pass and many people have done the same thing. Is there anyone who first got approved for Entrepass without forming a company?

Which is the best option? whether I should form the company first and then apply for the EmploymentPass or I should apply for EntrePass and then form a company?
