Do you have a micro SD card ?

(the small slot near where the SIM slides in)

use the usb cable that comes with the blackberry. you would be able to see the "removable media" on your PC. copy the stuff over...

Blackberry Ringtones

Post by Taga-Bukid » Fri, 07 Dec 2007 11:19 pm

Got an 8300. Didn't realize it until my wife and a colleague told me how annoying the ring tone is on my phone when they call. I called my cell and I agree with them. It is so obnoxious, I can't even describe it!

How do I change this? The ring tone is different from the one I hear when the cell phone rings which I would also like to change, but this is more tolerable than the tone that callers hear. Please help.

It's to do with the service provider. Is yours M1, Singtel or Starhub?

Blackberry Ringtones

Post by Taga-Bukid » Sat, 08 Dec 2007 12:23 am

Starhub. I tried looking online to change it, but couldn't find anything that didn't have a monthly charge to it. And what I found were the ring tones I would hear when somebody calls me. Since it is a company phone, I'd rather not have somebody ask me why I have additional $'s charged to my number on a monthly basis.

Any help would be appreciated.

Call Starhub at 1633 and they can advise you further. Press the option that lets you speak to the customer service officer.

The rings are under the Profile menu. Unfortunately, you have to set each ring separately...i.e., phone, SMS, email, etc.

Hope this helps...

mattyhattan,

Is that where the settings are?

Taga-Bukid is referring to the ringtone that the caller hears on the receiver as the call is being dialled through. Not the ring tone that the person being called hears.

I've put lots of tunes on my Blackberry 8800 - they play with no problems through the speaker

BUT

the headphone socket is for 2.5mm jack. My favourite headphones use 3.5mm.
I bought an adapter, but it's only playing in one ear !?!?!? ie, it's never worked properly.
(the headphones work fine)

Anyone had a similar problem ?

At the moment, I'm hoping it's just a faulty adapter (about $5) ........

Just go back to the shop with your Blackberry and headphones and explain to the shop person, so you can try on a different adapter?
