Is it ok to relocate??

Post by akil12 » Mon, 22 Oct 2007 1:53 am

Hi,

I recently secured job (8k/month + mediclaim) in singapore.
I will be moving with my family (wife+kid (1yr old)).

As my office location is near Tampines junction, I would like to know which location will best suite for me to rent place in singapore. (2 BHK??)
travel time around 30 min (1-way) is ok with me.

my budget is around 2000-2200k, is this sufficient to rent a condo?
while browsing through forums here I think rents are gone up.
But yes I like to know your opinion, as I plan to save 3.5 to 4 k month.
(no smoking and drinking habits, eating out once/twice a week)

please do let me know your thoughts/comments/suggestions..

Thanks for your time....

akil

Your budget is abit low for a condo in singapore. You might need at least 2500-3000 for a 3rooms condo, and you have to be lucky to get one at this price too. Alternatively you can consider retning a HDB flat. That would suits your budget better.

welcome to singapore... :)

finding an hdb should b no problem at all. theres a good chance of finding one in tampines itself. so ul barely have to travel 2 work.but thats in the suburbs.

r u looking 4 something in the suburbs or closer to town? east coast might be a good option. might also be able to make it to work in less than half an hour. u may also have to pay a little bit more. but its definitely a nice place to live in.

eating out at most place cost almost the same as cooking at home. so dont worry bout that.

all the best with ur move... :)
