Things to do with kids

I've a 4-year old and I'm hard pressed to find things to do on weekends. Other than the odd birthday parties, what else is there to do other than shop or go out to eat?

I'd love ideas that doesn't involve walking/running around in this sweltering humidity, and anything for the odd Saturday nights would be great.

there's a book called "fun 4 kids in singapore" or something like that. you can find them in any local bookstore.
