Philosophy reading group, anyone interested?

Post by Rasselas » Sat, 20 Oct 2007 1:03 pm

Hello everyone,

I recently arrived in Singapore after graduating from a U.S. university with a degree in philosophy. I am hoping to get a philosophy reading group together, and I am looking for anyone else who is interested. We could meet some evening during the week for drinks or food and to discuss some book. Post here if you are interested.

Well,
I'd like to discuss something in sophisticated manner. I'm a bit of mathematician and physicist, and these sciences now need phylosophy background for interpreting results.
PM me here or write [email protected]
Bye

Man, I've been wanting to start this for ages, but couldn't find anyone! I also graduated from a US university with a degree in philosophy in June and am now serving my bond with the Sg govt. My interests lie more in theoretical philosophy, especially philosophy of science, but I may be persuaded to discuss 'practical philosophy'. I would be most interested to join such a group.

Choosing a reading

Post by Rasselas » Wed, 24 Oct 2007 2:02 pm

Pablito & Wowbagger: So it sounds like philosophy of science might be a good place to start. Anything you guys have been looking to read? I'm going to stop by Borders tonight and see what is available, since we'll have to find a book that we can all get here.

Ihchen: No need to be an expert, I'm certainly not one either.

I'm glad that there is some interest in getting this group together!
