Going to Krabi this January. Accommodation query....

Hi guys, id like to ask if booking an accommodation is advisable in krabi? or can we just walk-in there and look for a place when we get there? which is cheaper and better? i haven't tried walking in to hotels/inns yet. hope you guys could help me out.

January - I think that's their peak season. I was in Krabi last March which is getting towards the end of the season there. I wanted to change hotels but couldn't find one with vacancies, so I'd definitely consider booking for January, unless you're thinking of one of the cheaper places (say less than 1000 bht per night).
