Hi, does anyone know... If i 'convert' my UK driving license to a sing license, do i actually have to give up the UK license or can i keep both?

Excellent, thanks. I was just concerned as i was looking at a UK website about converting the other way (Sing to UK license) and they say you will need to surrender your foreign license, which will be sent back to your issuing country...

Hi - how does one convert an international license to a Singapore license? Do I need to take the basic theory test or the advanced theory test? Thanks!!

Basic test. You have to register for that at any traffic police station..

Make that DRIVING CENTER... like Bukit Batok Drivng Center. You can do it online.
What do you mean "international license"? If from another approved country, then no problem. If one of those pieces of paper you pick up somewhere it won't work.
Must do the conversion within 12 months of your date of arrival.

I think Strong Eagle means that you can register for the Basic Theory test on-line, I don't think you can take it on line, that has to be done in person.
You do have to take the basic theory test within 12 months of arriving here.
They will need to see your UK drivers licence, but will return it to you and you get to keep it (I still have mine)

Although it indeed says so, don't worry about the fact, you should convert the license within 12 months after arrival.
I did it way later, lazy as I was, but no problem at all.

Is it easy to pass the basic test. Does one have to revise for it ??
I am rubbish at driving and rubbish at test.
I have only just arrived in SG. Think its wise to convert whilst I can - altho I have no plans to drive here yet.
Are there any drawbacks of converting

Louy just stick to the MRT, buses and taxis then, at least for a while.
We don't need any more rubbish drivers here.

Apparently walk-in registration is no more allowed. Need to make an appointment for account creation as well or pay the 80$ for online course.
