Recommendations for international movers: UK to Singapore?

Post by wombatt » Tue, 16 Oct 2007 9:33 pm

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me with recommendations for international movers (full packing and door to door service) from the UK?

I've come across the following companies online:
Global Relocations
Simpson's Removals and Storage
Sterling Relocations
Allied Pickfords

Does anyone have any experience (positive or negative) with any of these or any others they would recommend?

Thanks in advance

Hi we moved from the UK at the beginning of the year and used Allied Pickfords.
We found the cost to be quite reasonable and the service very very good...They came in and packed up our lives in a matter of hours and it was all delivered safely (exception of a few minor breakages, pic frame etc) 8 weeks later, was very impressed when they came in and unpacked evrthing here very fast, definately use them again...

Hope this helps

Good luck with the move

Helen

We used a company called Clark and Rose from Stirling in Scotland, but sure they have other offices.
They were a sub-contractor for Adam from Denmark(as I work for a danish company).
The guys who packed all the stuff were professional, helpful and considerate and friendly...and they are my wifes remarks and she has high standards..so they must have been very good
We never had any breakages at all..amazing.
Not too sure on the price as the company paid, but I have contact details if you want them.

I moved from Jakarta to London some 6 years ago and the London legg was carried out by Sterlling International - I couldn't have asked for a more professional & efficient team.
If I can, will use them again for our move to Singapore next year.
Not sure how the cost was as HR negotiated it for us.

Good luck with the move.

We moved from London to Singapore a few months ago and we used Sterling as well. They were fantastic and we would not hesitate to use them again. All our belongings are well packed, nothing was broken, not even crystals!

They use Helu Removals in Singapore who is one of the best. You get what you paid for and I could not have asked for anyone better. The removals in Singapore helped us unpacked everything, even put together furniture for us (and I am not talking about Ikea flat-packed). Saved us so much hassles.

Seriously highly recommended!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It sounds like Sterling is definitely a good option

We're going to get quotes from Sterling and Allied Pickfords and see how the costs compare.

If any one has any other recommendations I'd still be interested to hear them.

Cheers!
