What's best int. school following british curriculum in sin?

Post by lchen123 » Mon, 15 Oct 2007 6:42 pm

Can any recommend the best International School following the british curriculum in singapore ? we have 3 boys (age 3,6,8) and would like to have some opinions from expats what are the best schools ?

I have seen some suggestions like Chatsworth,Tanglin,Dover Court etc. but have no idea if one is better than the other.

Is there usually a long waitlist for all these schools so it is difficult to get in next year ?

What do you do it they all have waiting list and you can not get your kids into int. school ?

Husband is going to work in the business area in town so we plan to rent a place either close to his work or close to school. I read east coast is nice.
Plan to have a car, but would like still to be near public transport.
Any idea for rent of good standard 3 bedroom condo on east coast ?

thanks for any input, specially on the school matter

When are you coming to Singapore? Your best bet is to call the schools directly for the wait list times for each child since it can vary by class. I went to visit both Chatsworth and Tanglin and have since put my 3 year old on the wait list for Tanglin - but it was based on where I thought my boy would be most comfortable. I have friends with children at Chatsworth who are very happy and felt the same way (looked at all the schools and made their decision). The school might be able to give you a better idea of where they can go if there is not room while they are waiting. I know OFS has been used as a placement - but I think that might be oversubscribed as well (but I might be wrong).
There are several condos on the East Coast - I most recently viewed Pebble Bay and Costa Rhu. Both were nice and had a lot of facilities.
