I'm trying to get a grasp of some things I know little about before coming down on a budget. Stuff like just what it costs to get through the day. You know, the small change stuff which adds being the answer to the question "where did my salary go this month ?".
To give you an example from my life in Thailand:
Thailand - daily costs
Transport around if not using own car, motorbike taxi, cab in Bangkok etc. about $5
Food - some Thai noodles, something cooked at night and a snack out - $10
An english language paper and the weekly local rag - $2
A coffee, good quality - $3
So basic daily expenses of about $20
Other stuff I'm asking you. Clothes, toileteries, dry cleaning, laundry.
Now I know beer is expensive but thankfully there are places without Tiger (or not solely with Tiger perhaps). was around $9 a bottle before - now ?
Chuck up any other monthly things - like electric bills. My house in Thailand runs aircon and all the electrical stuff and costs me about $75 a month, water about $20 a month.
A nice meal out costs around $50 for two, a little more if you drink a lot, though you can spend way over twice that.
Just trying to get a feel for the ocsts, the daily loose change costs and the monthly bills before working out what I need to earn.
