From someone who's been there and done that.
Start here and follow my links within my messages in the thread. I quit mid-December 2004 and haven't looked back (after 37 years of smoking from 1 to 4 packs a day)

Good Luck to you.

HI,
I have now been a non-smoker for 23 weeks! It may not seem like long but I congratulate myself every sunday (anniversary day!) and remind my family to tell me how great I'm doing! I smoked at least 20 a day for 20 years. (scary thought)
My advice would be, break the routine, I ate chewy sweets whenever I got a craving for the first 2 weeks, not great for the wasitline but it distracted me. I was very irritable but that also passed. Keep busy.
The only key to this is YOUR desire to do it. I printed off all the health benefits and stuck them on my fridge.
Nobody else can persuade you. My partner said to me - at least you're not having any more cravings, just as I was having a massive craving! Nearly bit his head off! Now though I hate smelling the smoke. I realised how addicted I was once I'd stopped.
So, good luck and you will feel better for doing this. Let me know how you get on, if you need support!
