accoutning software: which one

Post by luxiana » Wed, 26 Sep 2007 3:13 pm

hello,

What accounting software would you recommend to use in Singapore please?

after a year, if your company has made almost no profit and a low turnover: do you need to send anythign to IRAS?

Thanks!

luxiana,

There is only one (there are a number) that I would recommend and that is MYOB. I use it with my own company (see my profile) and I also use it at my employer (4 companies in the group with 200 staff). It's localized so you would have no problems with things like GST reporting and so forth.

Having said that, if your company looks like a no go, then I would opt for one of the free ones on the web as you don't want to throw good money after a dead horse. If you think the business will grow and continue then the investment in MYOB is worth it.

Here are a few to get you started and a link to a bunch more. I cannot vouch for any of them so.......

JP likes the 2nd one and is apparently using it himself.

I've used Peachtree... long standing stuff, quite a few features, easy to use. I liked the original Microsoft small business but did not have multiple currency support. New one does... will have to look at it... I like what MS has put together.
