British Expat - Wills

Post by Tartan » Tue, 25 Sep 2007 8:29 pm

Hi,

Can anyone advise what the situation is with wills in Singapore for a British expat?

I'm married, no kids.

Does a UK will apply in Singapore or do we need to get one done here? Does Singapore have DIY wills like they do in the UK or is there a special process we have to follow?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

I have just done mine in the UK and was told to make one in every country that you have interests.
A warning was given that it positively says that it does not override the UK one as apparently in UK law the last will no matter where it was wrote over rules the UK one.
Im sure someone has more in singapore law but that was what I was told a few weeks ago in the UK.
