Sanctuary Green versus Water Place? Help - need to decide!!

Post by the colemans » Mon, 24 Sep 2007 11:32 pm

Hi there... I'm a brit with a wife and 2 young kids (1 and 2 1/2)... this will be our first overseas posting... I've looked up and down the east coast over the last couple of days and feel that Sanctuary Green and/or Water Place in Tanjong Rhu look good for families and will be reletively low risk (new places) in terms of size/maintenance/location to CBD. I know they're a bit isolated but taxi's and buses and the bus plus will help.

Anyone know anyone in either? anyone living there? are the other European families to befriend? Does one nationality tend to congregate in either as I've read on condo descriptions that certain (Japanses, Indian etc) places are favoured in this way...

Any view on either would be very welcome
Thanks
james

I vote for water place. Nice view, near to amenities, central location.

I feel it can be difficult catching a taxis there because it is so isolated. You have to call a taxi most of the time and the buses are not that frequent there.

We went to see Water Place but not too impressed. The grounds look good but I feel they are somewhat all crowding too much in the middle of the development. Underground parking is a tight squeeze and it is pretty noisy being too close to the motorway.

I have not been to Sanctury Green so cannot comment.

Have you look at The Bayshore?

Choose Serangoon Gardens. There are many eateries, shops, POSB, police station, NTUC, many banks, pet stores, pubs and a social club there. Mostly houses there, and if you used to living in landed homes, this is a nice location. There are also buses to Serangoon MRT station (10 mins journey).
