Landlords respond in the Times

Post by German_Expat » Mon, 24 Sep 2007 2:28 pm

Have you all read the comments from landlords who are trying to shed the image of being greedy? They are complaining that tenants have for too long enjoyed low rents and that the landlords had to add a considerable amount to this rental income in order to make the mortgage payments. Well, poor landlords.... most likely bought the property at the last property frenzy when prices were at their high just to capitalise on the high rentals and then all came crashing down :-) Those who bought when the prices were very low are the ones who benefit and they don't need to raise rents so high and still make a decent profit. S, I am afraid that article at the weekend did not make me feel the slightest bit sorry for them. I do however feel that there are a few landlords out there who are genuine nice people and are branded as greedy money grabbers. And this also has a lot to do with the agents that are between them and the tenants. Agents have a lot to be responsible for in this market.
